Mission
Living and Learning
The Essex Center for Life Education is a private, secular learning community currently operating through individual in-person and online Life's Journey Counseling consultations. This is the public-facing service of the Divine Providence Abbey Community to the community at large.
This center is about mission — one's life work or journey or path — for those who ask:
- What are we doing with our lives?
- What is our life's work, purpose, and intention?
- What actions can we take to evaluate and improve our lives and the world in which we live work to be a catalyst for change, providing resources and support to assist people to explore and fulfill their life's work?
- What spirit do we bring to life that is secular (not necessarily religious, although it could be)? That is, what attitudes, mindset, self-concept, self-talk and healthy emotional drive enlivens and drives us? What good life spirit can we create in the world and what good life spirit can be channel into the world from our human and nature communities?
We seek to be a place for people
- to grow and prosper by addressing strengths and challenges in new and more effective ways
- to receive compassion and support during times of change or struggle
